Nearpod

I had the chance to explore Nearpod, and I have to say, I love it! I’ve come across many different tech tools in my career, but Nearpod feels like the perfect balance between engagement, interactivity, and meaningful learning. It’s like the Swiss knife of lesson planning—everything you need in one place.

One of the reasons I chose Nearpod is because it aligns so well with my final IT project! The versatility of Nearpod will allow me to design an experience where students don’t just passively consume information but actually engage with it through interactive activities, quizzes, and even if I decide to include it, VR experiences.

But let’s take a step back. What exactly is Nearpod? Simply put, it’s an interactive presentation and assessment tool that allows teachers to create engaging, student-centered lessons. You can integrate videos, gamified quizzes, polls, collaborative boards, and even 3D objects into your lessons. But the best part is you can do it all in real time or assign it for self-paced learning.

So instead of just talking to my students, I can guide them through an experience where they are active and engaged participants. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned throughout this Fulbright experience, it’s that engagement is the secret ingredient to meaningful learning.
